     FIrst off, Alex a teenager who is very average. But one day he drank some vodka and went out to drive over to his dad. But he hit a lawn gnome and got arrested. After he had to wait a month for his trial. At the trial the judge gave him a sentence to help out an elderly man picked out by his mom. His name was Sol.

     At first, Sol and Alex didn't get along. Sol was calling Alex insults in yiddish. Then after Alex brought his guitar after a jazz practice Sol wanted to hear him play. So, after a while they started getting along and Alex brought his best friend Laurie along. After Sol called Laurie Alex's wife Alex got very defensive and awkward. After that Alex started finding Laurie attractive. Then, during the New Year's party at the nursing home Sol found out why Alex was there. He got angry and yelled at Alex. Afterwards Laurie came back after Alex and she told him Sol was not mad anymore afterwards.

     Alex wanted to prove he changed and wanted to stay with Sol even after his hours. So, he organized a concert for the nursing home. With the two music prodigies he called the Cha-Kings. Then during the halftime he had to find Sol his glasses. Then, he came back to see Sol playing on the stage. Alex was angry at first and then forgave Sol. After Sol planned a second concert. Alex offered Sol his own tele to play. Sol was going to play it for his last concert/gig. Then Sol decided Alex was "worthy" and gave him his vintage jazz guitar. The judge didn't go to the first concert and came to second. Sol's daughter Judy never visited him. Also, Sol's wife died while he was on a gig, she got hit by a drunk driver. That's why Sol was mad at Alex. After the first song Sol realized the judge was his daughter and they hung out together after that. Until Sol died one day. Alex continued working at the home but he said it would never be the same without Sol.

My Past Self VS. My Future Self, wait, that doesn't sound correct....

     I think as we went I started to get the hang of things. Like how to put the prompt and date of the blogs. Also I saw and noticed that I'm getting more into the books. My blogs also started to slowly increase in length when I was typing about books I liked. I greatly improved and got into blogging. I feel like doing it all the time. This is a really fun and interesting experience.

     I like how I've improved in commenting as well. In all aspects. I now make sure I comment every week. Also, in the first weeks it was like, "Wow, great blog!" and, "So cool." Now I use my expanded vocabulary to ask questions and other things. I really love reading other people's blogs and getting comments. I feel so loved! I just try to forget the fact that we're pretty much forced to do it if we want a good grade.

     I think I greatly improved in vocabulary and actually going into detail. Well not every little detail. But, enough so it's not confusing. I would constantly get, "Wait, I'm confused," and, "What?" as comments. Now I try to be more clear and explain instead of using it or he or she. I think everyone has improved.

     The best thing that has changed is the content. A lot of people make their blogs interesting and/or fun to read. I try to and wasn't really in the beginning. It's like in the beginning the blogs weren't very interesting. Students, including myself, just saw it as another piece of homework we had to do. Now everyone is communicating with each other and making excellent blogs. It's a great little community. (Until one day.....)

Drawing From Memory 2/20/09

Prompt: Describe what you just read.
Pages Read: Finished. I finished it.

     It was about a great kid from Japan. As he was growing up his mom taught him how to read at a very young age. Making him popular because he could read picture books to other children on the block. The boy's name was Allen. Ever since he's read comic books he's wanted to draw. His father disapproved of it and said that artists weren't respectful. As he grew up he would still draw but keep it hidden from his father. Then a war broke out and after he was separated and went with his mom to their grandpa's house. After that Allen's mom and dad had a divorce. Allen was taken by his dad and they left. Then after his mom got an job she claimed the children. Allen lived with his grandma, mom and sister. Then he got a chance to love in his own apartment. If he made it to a really good high school.

     After he made it he finally got to live by himself. Then as he went out to do "adult things". He bought a newspaper. Then, he went to a restaurant and ordered dinner. The story in the newpaper made him lose his appetite. It was about a kid like him who wanted to be an artist. So, he went to the famous master that took the kid in. Her asked if he could be learning there. He loved the Sensei's work as a kid and like drawing his horses. So the Sensei asked him to draw a horse. It was great and he accepted it.

     They started doing practices and after a while Allen and the other apprentice, started drifting apart. It started with the riots he attended. Allen wasn't into it. After a while his dad sends him a letter. Allen gets a big check and a letter that asks him to go to America with him. He asked around his family and some friends and he decided to go. Allen was very cool and I liked this book a lot.

Spine Poetry

     It's about a coach that nobody liked but now see all the things he did to help and are grieving him, like he's a step from heaven. He used to be making fun of people playfully but they didn't interpret it like that. He had an out of control alias. But the out of control alias was then, now they remember all the times the coach has helped them and feel bad and now mourn him.

Found Poetry

     It's about not taking stuff for granted like your home. (The blue parts are the home and red is the fire.) Retta stood looking at her old home and saw it for the last time. It was damaged and beyond repair. She knew her sister couldn't take the sight so she told her to stay in the car. Afterwards, she tells her to leave in an apologetic tone because she did not get to see the home. They left before it got worse since they were in the dry desert.

The Alchemyst 2/6/2014 (The Preview for Second Book)

Prompt: After reading I wonder....

     There's a new character introduced that happens to be a dark elder. He is at an auction for 2 Chinese traditional masks. The bidding gets intense and the price doubles from the original selling price. Then he gets a call from Dee. Dee tells him about how the children and Nicholas escaped and that they're in Paris. This gets me wondering what the Dark elder's powers are. Maybe he turns into some Chinese Dragon or learned a type of fighting that's exclusive to China and He's most powerful there. This gets me thinking about all the new obstacles they have to get over to accomplish their goals.

     I also wonder what the dark elder will do to them. Will he create/control minions like Dee did. Is he going to attack them full on or get backup? He also has a history with Scatty because he grimaced or winced at the name. Maybe he got stronger or she trained him. Maybe he was scared of her.

     I think after Dee arrives he's going to help the mysterious dark elder find or hunt them down. They might be in trouble and Josh's powers might be awakened. SOmething might happen to Sophie and Josh will blame Nicholas. Then, In blind rage and jealously he'll join Dee or betray them. Or at least I think so.
