The Alchemyst 1/30/14

Pages Read: 158-369 ( End of Book)
Prompt: Describe the major conflict. What side are you on?

It all began with another ordinary day. Then a black car pulled up. Strange men came out and headed towards the bookstore that her brother, Josh, worked at. She was going to call him but Pernelle came into the coffee shop Sophie worked in. The main conflict started to pick up as Pernelle recognized the smell of rotten eggs. Josh was witnessing Nicolas and a strange man he heard being called Dee fight. But not just any fight. A magic fight, Nicholas shot little green spheres and Dee commanded the golems to fight back. Josh knew his life would never be the same again.

After a few more battles, the twins find out they are in a prophecy and the twins need their magic potential unlocked. Sophie got hers unlocked before the elder called Hekate died. Josh never got to get awakened. After that the plot and conflict started getting heavier. With Dee trying to convince Josh to join them. Knowing he was probably feeling jealous and angry for not getting awakened. In the prophecy it said that one twin could save and the other would destroy. In the beginning Pernelle is captured and taken as a hostage you could say. So they go on a journey and try and get Sophie to learn elements and spells for her own protection. trying to escape Dee and save Pernelle.

I'm personally on Nicholas Flamel's side. Mostly I like villans. I just like the evil feel. But, I don't like the shadiness of Dee. He seems like he will betray his fellow teammates, the Dark Elders. Dee is the kind of person that disposes whatever he had when he's done with it. Well, that's what I think. Even though I don't have much information about Nicholas, but he seems more trustworthy.

The Alchemyst 1/23/14

Pages: 40-158
Prompt: Summarize what you just read.

Well after the attack in the bookstore, Nicholas Flamel decides that the twins aren't safe. He takes them with him. Dee might've took the codex but with one or two pages gone, it's rendered useless. Nicholas knows that Dee will return for the pages. But the twins were going to get killed or worse if they stayed. So he took them with him. They went around and realized there were a bunch of rats that were watching them. Then he took them to a weird place.

Nicholas Flamel took them to a dojo. There, they met an ancient warrior. Her name is Scatty. While the twins were just hanging out, Scatty talked to Nicholas about how he could've easily taken the golems. Then, he asked her if she remembered a prophecy about twins. Then, Scatty asked him if he thought they were the ones. Nicholas said he was going to find out.

After the talk Nicholas and Scatty get attacked by golems. After defeating them they take off to a strange place. But, on the way there, they encounter a flock of birds. They were no ordinary birds and attacked. Nicholas and Scatty fended them off until they made it to their destination. There was a three headed god named Hekate that Scatty wasn't very fond of. They asked her to try and unlock the twins magic potential. They had pure silver and gold auras. It was very rare. After that they have a disaster dinner. They wait for next morning to see if they get their magic powers.

The Alchemyst 1/16/14

Pages read: 1-40
Prompt: Describe a character that you would like to meet (which doesn’t mean that you think you would like the character, but that you think the character would be
interesting). List 4 questions that you would ask.

I would like to meet Nicholas Flamel. He's one of the main protagonists. If you have read or watched Harry Potter before you know he created the Philosopher's Stone. Well in this book he uses a fake name, Nick Fleming. He runs a bookstore and has an employee named Josh. Anyway, He is actually from the 14th Century. There is another sorcerer after the Book of Lore. It's a book that helps him create the Philosopher's stone, or understand it. Anyway, he seems interesting. According to Josh he usually wears a T-shirt and black jeans. Nicholas' eyes are very pale too. He seems like the most interesting Character.

I would love to know how Nicholas did magic. Also, how he found out he could learn it. He has a wife named Perry, or Pernelle. When she was captured Josh and his twin sister asked if she was going to be ok. Nicholas said very calmly, "Yes." He said Perry had taken a class and had become very strong magic-wise. Nicholas seems very calm almost all the time. He seems like he has everything under control or needs to get it under control. At least he doesn't panic.

First, I'd ask him how Pernelle and him met. I'd like to know how this whole thing started. Speaking of how everything was started. What did he have to do to start learning about this magic and sorcery? It's be cool to hear if he had some amazing adventure at a magic school or something. Then, I'd ask him how he figured out about people's aura and how to use his own as a weapon. Maybe he got taught that. Finally, I'd ask him how it was like seeing everything change in front of his eyes. Like the new technology and clothing styles. It'd be cool to hear about that. Imagine getting told about the new laptops and touchscreen phones.

This is Why Jonas Doesn't Deserve Attention By: Asher (The Giver)

     SideBar:

Occupation: Director of the Recreational center
Age: 12
Asher's clumsy, fun, and good-natured person.
His Best friend is Jonas.
He likes and plays baseball.

Hello, I'm Asher and I'm here to tell you the real thing about Jonas. But, I'm going to start from the beginning. It was an ordinary morning. Take my pill, and eat my breakfast. Then, I went off to school. But, while biking my way there I saw the crew, separating salmon. I was distraught and had to watch. Then I realized I was going to be late and rushed to school. I told them the story and the teacher accepted my apology and said that distraught was "too strong" of an adjective to describe salmon separating. More like distracted, I like that word. I mean, I usually mess words up but I'l try and remember that. Well I mean it wasn't the most exciting thing in the world. But, I was a little discouraged because I was corrected. I don't know why I just hate being corrected and not looking smart. Sometimes I wish I could be smarter. Well I mean I'm not dumb but definitely not the smartest one. Everyone laughed at first which I was as little sad of. I mean, I was being serious. Anyway the ceremonies were getting closer and closer. I was still excited for that!

Well, Then the ceremonies started to get nearer every day I was so pumped! So I started working more volunteer hours for me to get assigned to a job. I went to the house of the old, Fiona was there too. We were just scrubbing down some elders when Jonas arrived. He took a glance at me when I said hi and then stared at Fiona for a few seconds. A few days later the first ceremony began. I was just watching the families get a new baby. When Fiona gets her baby brother, she sits in the row in front of us. Then, she turns around and says she likes her little brother but not the name. I, myself thought Bruno was an OK name. When the younger children's ceremonies ended I got excited for the next day, my turn! The next day arrived, everything went as planned and then it was the Twelves turn. When they got to me they told the story of when I was younger and instead of asking for a snack I asked for a smack. After a while I started to stop talking. Until I finally said it right. Then they said my job, the Director of Recreation. But they seemed to have skipped Jonas as they approached and left his number. After all the kids got their jobs I was worried for him. Then the chief elder apologized. "Phew," I thought as he was getting his assignment. He was assigned the Receiver and everyone made a big deal about it. I'll admit now I was experiencing a weird unexplainable felling, like I wanted to be Jonas.

After that we still went to school and did homework. We didn't hang out as much anymore. After my training I was tired and had to eat dinner. We still rode bikes to school sometimes and talked a little. But he would not talk about his training. As the days went by he started acting strange. Jonas was telling me to look at some flowers the other day and said they were different. They weren't different at all. They were just the same thing, in the same place. Jonas started acting crazy. I was frightened by his actions and all this crazy talk. It seemed like he was trying to get released. I felt like Jonas wanted to give me some sort of message. But I didn't know what! I wasn't sure about him. We kept drifting away, but that's how my family unit said it would be. All the group mates and friends will soon drift apart and get their spouse. But, I didn't think it would happen right after. Then, I realized it hadn't happened yet, it was just with Jonas. But that wasn't going to stop them from playing around like the good old days.

A few days later, school was passing, I did homework, Jonas started acting weirder than he already had been. That was the only thing bothering me. Until one morning, while completing some homework, an announcement came on. It said we had an unscheduled holiday. I was so excited. I asked my parents if I could go outside and they said yes! So I zoomed to the field and found some of the other kids. We decided to play good guys and bad guys! Then, all of a sudden Jonas came. We finally started playing together again! Then, Jonas just stopped playing. Did he really think he was too high for us and wasn't childish enough to play this? He was still a 12! I was mad, I shot him and told him he's dead but he just said, "Stop." Then all the kids came out of cover. Of course Fiona comes and asks him what's wrong. I came up to him and told him he was ruining it. I automatically said, "I'm sorry I didn't give you the respect you deserve." Still irritated Fiona asked him if he wanted to ride along the river bank with her. I felt like she was becoming his new best friend. As days went by the new ceremony approached. After a while he didn't seem to talk to me anymore. But we were still best friends. I'll admit I did get mad at him at him. But I realized that it's probably the strange feeling that made me feel that way towards Jonas. I now knew he was probably struggling with his training and needed more time.

My training was starting to get a little harder when I started practicing what to do when I need to change activities. and where to put signs. I also get to clear the board and put my little league games up! So now I won't forget. I also have to put signups. The ceremony was getting closer and closer! I couldn't wait to see all the new twelves! I was getting a little too excited for something I wasn't going to be in. I still had tons of homework and the practice I had to do. So I was a little busy too.  But sometimes I just rode around. Then, one day as I was biking around. I saw Jonas go into the building he worked in. I might be able to visit. So, I went in and asked for Jonas. They said he couldn't come out and was in the middle of, "Special training." There goes that idea of visiting him. I just left and I didn't see him bike back home later. Maybe he took a different route, that's it. The ceremony was closer and I hadn't seen Jonas that much, we were pretty distant. But I did see him near the food supply sometimes and the gate to elsewhere. I was wondering why but thought it to be nothing. The day of the first ceremony I didn't see him. Jonas wasn't anywhere, but he might've been with his parents. Then, after the ceremony Jonas' parents came to me. They said they haven't seen him the whole ceremony. He might've been with Fiona I suggested. But he probably left. Then the man that trains Jonas said he left. How dare he! After all we've been through. He just left to elsewhere. I'm not sure how I felt. I felt sad and angry. Jonas was probably thinking he was better than us and wanted all this attention for leaving. "I hope they catch Jonas," I thought to myself.

This Is the Link I use to sign up for my Hobby. I use this for online Recreational Center.

I love looking at scores to see if I got close to any real scores in one of my games.

I'm not so good at playing myself but like to see baseball cards of people's stats.

Going up to bat is my favorite so I have to get the best baseball bat!

This is the recreational center I work at.
