The Fault In Our Stars 11/20/14

Prompt: Describe the Conflict, Characters, and Setting

     The conflict is love. At first Hazel doesn't know if she likes Augustus or not. She's wondering if it would be wrong to date Augustus. She figured that maybe he's dating her because she looks like his old girlfriend. Also, she'd worried he might get too attached. Hazel knows she's going to die and doesn't want to hurt Augustus. Hazel's also worried about Isaac and how he'll cope with being blind.

     The characters all have some sort of problem. Which is cancer, Augustus had leg cancer, Hazel has lung cancer, and Isaac had eye cancer. Isaac had a relationship with a girl named Monica. Doctors told him they had to perform a surgery which would get rid of Isaac's cancer, but make him blind. Right before the operation Monica broke up with him. He was very gloomy and depressed. Mostly sad and angry at first though. Augustus grew up liking basketball but started disliking it one day. Then he was diagnosed and had his leg amputated. He received a prosthetic leg. Hazel has lung cancer and is surviving. She has to be hooked up to a machine to be able to breathe.

     The setting seems to be a normal city/town. It's known to not have many parks. There's a church with a support group in it that meets every once in a while. (Which is how Hazel and Augustus met). There is an airport to. (When they start to head to Amsterdam). In Amsterdam there's lots of beautiful rivers and trees. The scenery is just incredible. There's also confetti from all of the celebration.
